My name is Fred Smith, and I am a watercolor painter living in Surprise, Arizona just outside of Phoenix. I specialize in custom watercolor pet portraits and sell my work through personal appearances and my website (www.petart4u.com) as well as locally in the Phoenix area.
I have been doing art since my teenage years. I began working with watercolor 35 years ago, and my passion for the medium was instant. I fell in love with the colors and transparency.

My business got its start creating pet portraits as a fundraiser for local animal shelters. It has evolved into what you see today. I am still painting pet portraits, this time as my full-time business. Nothing touches me quite so much as when a customer commissions a portrait of a beloved pet who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

I love working with local organizations and charities and have collaborated with various No Kill and adoption foundations around the country, most notably North Shore Animal League, ARF on the West Coast and various
smaller organizations around the country. It is my honor always to give 10% of every commission to the organization of my collector’s choice.
