Each piece varies subtly due to its handmade nature, allowing the rich texture of the clay and glaze to stand out, while the expressive animal‑shaped spout gives the vessel a lively, almost animated presence. Inspired by centuries‑old traditions of animal‑shaped pottery, Makoto Komatsu designed this teapot to balance artistry with practical function, inviting it to be used not only for tea but also for serving sake or soup stock.
