Charcoal Sculpture Pedestal - Short

Sculptural in its own right, the Charcoal Sculpture Pedestal, crafted from solid Douglas Fir, undergoes the ancient shou-sugi-ban technique, revealing deep grooves and textures that evolve with time. As it ages, the wood tells its own story, expanding and shifting, showing hints of the natural grain beneath its burnished surface. Due to the nature of this wood piece, cracking may occur as it acclimates to its environment. If desired, exposed areas can be refinished by carefully torching with high heat or applying a matte black spray paint for a seamless look. Please note, this product is final sale.

Finish: The piece, made of solid Douglas Fir wood, is then treated with the shou-sugi-ban application of burning the first few layers of wood and finished with a clear matte seal.  Please be sure not to break the seal when moving the piece within your home.
