ay Bojesen created his wooden soldiers for the first time in 1940 on the occasion of King Christian X’s 70th birthday as a tribute to the Danish king. At that time, they stood guard as one meter tall soldiers outside Kay Bojesen's shop in Bredgade. In 1942, Kay Bojesen created these smaller figures. The officer carries his sabre and stands as the leader of the Regiment.
